The Volkswagen Golf is a small family car that is being produced by the German car manufacturer Volkswagen. Introduced in 1974 and sold worldwide across seven generations - the Volkswagen Golf is perhaps one of the most successful cars of the German automaker. Since its introduction it had several body configurations and was sold under various nameplates - as the Volkswagen Rabbit in the United States and Canada (Mk1 and Mk5), and as the Volkswagen Caribe in Mexico (Mk1).
